At the age of thirteen she began testing the waters of dance and joined a group called A.S.C. (Ashley Shore's Crew) and immediately became the choreographer of the group. At a young age her parents saw she had a gift for singing and dancing. So during her high school years she entered and won talent shows. Additionally Tawonna won first prize for at Garrett High School, impressing one of the judges so much they insisted that she enter the Martin Luther King Talent Search. Once again Tawonna won first price for vocals! All those events opened Tawonna's eyes and inspired her to pursue a singing career. She was fortunate to meet Sam Alston of Royal Red and sang with the group a the Spoleto Festival in 1994. That's when she began to test the waters and explore different studios singing background and hooks for various local artists. Tawonna later gained an opportunity to accompany a large band where she ultimately became the lead singer. Tawonna connected with Q.T.P. Records (Quest Tour Powers) and performed as opening act for Nelly and Archie. She has since been very busy. Opening up for David Banner, Yo Gotti, Skinny Pimp, Juvenile, Young One, Lil Scrappy Crime Mobb... the list goes on included extravaganzas promoted by Z-93 Jamz.
